Frosty Pattern

It was pretty cold last night, and the temperature hasnt gone up all that much today. Just a few moments ago i had a look out of the window and noticed a nice pattern that the frost had created on one of the cars. I thought i might share this with you all...
I just thing this was pretty smart how natural that pattern was. Does anyone know how these sort of patterns come about?
Does anyone have any comments? this was taken using the digital zoom on my digital camera. Considering the distance i took it from (1st floor window of office) i think it looks quite impressive. I guess its a "you had to be there to see it" kinda thing.
