GIMP tutorial for a beginner

HI!
I'm looking for step-by-step gimp tutorial. I must do some graphics for website web have no talent :/
And please don't tell me to look for it on google because I've done it thousands times with no good results... what I've found were tutorial how to make some effect [I've never had good results when doing them on my own].... please help....
Now I've got gimp 2.0 on linux machine....

Have you tried the help in GIMP? You can get to it by clicking F1 or by click Help > Help.
You can also get it online here:
