wt is a render built of?! wt tools do you use to make one?

a render is an image rendered by a 3d program.
a 3d program like 3d studio max, cinema 4d, bryce 5.

each uses 3d modelling techniques to render image under real world situations... or your own situations. Like putting a glass ball in a room full of lights for instance, it will create an image based on the properties of light, and the properties of the glass ball to give you an image.

so for the sort of thing i made, i got a ball, stretched it, extruded bits, gave it an orange skin, and cut some of it out for the layout.
