HELP: trouble opening jpeg images using photoshop

I'm working on a Windows PC XP home Edition.
I use Photoshop 7.0, and I've recently been having trouble opening up the jpeg files downloaded from my digital camera.

Some images open up just fine, but others don't open. Instead of opening up as the image, it opens up as a blank document. I'm prompted with this pop-up window that asks me to specify the file size, name etc. When I click 'OK', it's just a blank doc.

What's more, some images that opened yesterday, don't open today.
Ah...photoshop never had this problem..it's driving me insane..

Any help will be appreciated

Does it have a problem with any jpegs you open that are not from your camera? Also how are you getting the images off your camera onto your computer?
