Hurrican Charley vs. Punta Gorda

These photos aren't so great as they were taken through the car windows mostly. We drove through Punta Gorda on the Monday following Charley. Here's a few of the photos.

I take it the damage was extensive then

Yup Jupiter, the damage was extreme, I've never seen anything like it. It looked like a bombsite in many areas. A friend of mine is a reptile & amphibian breeder in Ft. Myers down the road from PG. He just had three big ponds dug on his land for raising some amphibians, and turtles. After the hurricane, it just looked like one huge lake.

hey i live about 40 minutes from Punta Gorda, in Naples. We didnt get hit too hard though. but there are supposively 3 more hurricanes coming. Earl, Danielle, and i dont know the name of the third one.

Frances is supposed to be on the way over... Cat 3 right now... speculation says maybe it'll get up to Cat 5, and come right up central FL.
