Hi guys, i have the letter A which i have converted into a path

now the thing i want to do is remove the horizontal line in the middle, how can i do this without leaving irregularities i.e. how can i make it as though the A was ment to be without the middle line

now i know there are nodes but was wanting to know how on earth i can replace a particular node with another one unless that is not the way in which i am supposed to do it

cheers

Delete the nodes relevant to the horizontal join. Do this by selecting the pen tool and clicking on the nodes when the little minus cursor appears IIRC.

You should find the nodes at the top and bottom of each stroke join as a result. Close the path by joining the top node to the bottom node on each side of the A.

Aah lol this is the problem

I tried to to delete the nodes but what happens is that if i try delete the nodes on the bottom half of the horizontal line it just deletes the path and i cannot move the other nodes at all

also when removing the nodes, the inner triangle shape of the A seems as though it is seperate to the whole outline

It will temporarily mess the shape up, but as long as you leave the node(s) at the upper point of the inside of the A and the nodes at the bottom of the inside of the 'feet' of the A you should be able to join them up, again using the pen tool.

If you can't get it working, email it to me (address on my website - see www button).
