Hi, I am new to this site and am looking for information on how to create images with high pixel count. I have an image that is 620x412 and need to increase it to 3840 x 4800. Is this even possible? If so, what app should I be using? I am currently using PS Touch.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The only way you can take an image of a given size and actually increase the size and continue to maintain a high quality image is if the image is in a vector format. My guess is that you are looking at a rasterized image and with that you would lose all of the detail in the image since the information is just not there.

Quote:
A vector graphic is infinitely scalable in size, whereas a raster graphic is resolution dependent and changes in size will detrimentally affect the visual quality of the image.

hhmm interesting I might need to test that but 620x412 to 3840 x 4800 may be a little excessive tho.

Test what?

Also, "a little excessive" is entirely subjective. For all you know the OP might want to send the image to a production printer, use it as a multi-display desktop background, etc.
