inserting clip art to word then pasting to paint fails

I regularly insert MS clip art into MS word then paste it to MS Paint.
But at the moment, pasting it from WORD to PAINT is failing.
There must be some experts on this forum who can help me?

As a matter of interest, why don't you just paste it direct to Paint?

I'm not sure on how i can help. I'm just a bit curious.

OOps. Never tried that. I'm used to just being in WORD, going to INSERT, choosing clip art and going from there. I'll see if there's an option in PAINT for me to download direct
