Interesting gradient effect.

Here goes my first post on this site. On the following site http://www.bukwildmedia.net/ there is a gradient effect on the individual to the right. It seems to be something like a gradient that was done on its own layer then the opacity was decreased and a effect added to the very same layer...something along the lines of soft light for example. I further assume that a mask is added and then everything is erased except what is the outline of the individual on the layer above the actual image(this is the layer with the gradient and mask) I have tried what I just described but the effect doesn't quite look the same. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts on this. I think the site is hot by the way.

Might not be gradients....

Could be color balance layers just erasing different spots to get that effect.

I decided to try it myself......



Thats my 3 minutes worth. All I did was use various adjustment layers and some brushing to overlay and soft for little tiny detail. Some of it looks crappy because its a sloppy quicky job. Well anyways if you have questions just PM or something.

And perhaps because you took a picture of Britney Spears?

lol i have a folder of stock images i use in creating signatures (tags) for gfx communities........and it happened to be the random one i picked to demonstrate what i mean.

I appreciate the response. I will be sure to take a stab at it.
