3D Landscape Maker

I REALLY need a program that you can make 3D landscapes with. I had one once but then my PC crashed and I cant remember its name. Please help. Also if anyone knows a good program that makes 3D people then I wouldnt mind that either

bryce 5, makes landscapes
terragen makes landscapes...
but only renders them...

you mean for actual landscapes...or a type of level modelling
