Hello. I would like to create a logo for my Outdoor Cooking page :
http://www.thesmokerking.com

I have a great idea of a cowboy riding a half bull half barbeque smoker. What program would be good for me to create logos like this.

Thanks a bunch.

Oh, I thought you meant taking a premade stuff. Adobe Illustrator should do it with some Photoshop to tie it all together.

Yes...but not as easy as Illustrator, or any other vector based program.

You may wish to try Inkscape, a free vector graphics editor. It likely doesn't have the robust feature set of a programme like Illustrator, but neither does it have the same price tag. =]

you always want to use a vector based program for designing your logo. This will permit you to resize you logo without distortion for future needs. You may want it on products like; coffee mugs, shirts, hats, stickers, etc. You most definitly need to resize for various banners and ads to promote your site.

Thank you all for your help. I have adobe illustrator now, and I am working on learning how to use the program. Looks like I have a lot of learning to do.
