logo idea

hi,
im thinking about creating a new logo for my website.

here is a design i was thinking of:



i know the colours dont go with the name, i just cant think of a way to improve on this name. I dont think its a good name either and thinking about a rename ... errghhh *sighs*.

anyway my current logo is on my current site: http://www.gold-solutions.co.uk any comments on the site would also be grateful. I know it dont give a good image but its just that i dont have time for it.

I like the logo. Obviously needs a touch more colour with the name and all (as you mentioned). I generally go for nice rich blues.

As for company name, I too am trying to think of a decent freelance alias.
You could try http://www.whatbrandareyou.com/ which is really more of a laugh, but hey, you might get lucky (there may be a problem with patenting names which the site produces though )

It is hard to think of a name, im currently thinking of a website name and its been 3 months. They are either taken or just well *crap*

I'm not sure this logo reads correctly. The first time I looked at it I thought, "G 5 Solutions". Then I thought, "Old G 5 Solutions.

I like the idea of combining the G and S, but I think the resulting symbol should stand on it's own, without having text integrated into it. There should be a block of text that says Gold Solutions, but it souldn't be apart of the symbol, IMO. It should also be clear that that it's an S and not a 5.

My 2 cents.

btw: Are you selling gold, or is it just a name?

I agree with dM on this one, tho I do like the logo, it is better then the current one.
