I was wondering what people thought of my new logo for Burnt Raven Web Consultants:

I like your logo, however I was wondering who you are trying to target with the logo. If you are trying to present yourself to webdesigners and other graphics oriented people you have to keep in mind that they probably have seen a lot of logos and really need to be impressed. If you are trying to sell yourself to more straight forward businesses, you might want to pursue a more of an upscale look with a less pop-y feel.

I think he's implying that what you have looks kinda cheesy and amateurish

To be honest, that logo looks like a thousand others darted about various Geocities and other free sites of people hoping to break into the business at zero expense (which really can't be done).

I did it 5 minutes. I wasnt actually trying to do the proper logo i was just messing around with effects!

Well, you said it was "my new logo", you didn't say you were messing around with an effect, you said it was your "logo".

I have to agree with axe. I thought you were actually going to use this and not that it was just you playing around with a program. I was trying not to be as harsh as axe was, but hey he was right. lol

Adobe Photoshop

I like photoshop like nick, but i also use illustrator and freehand if i am starting from scratch.

I've not tried Illustrator, but I'll hopefully be getting it soon. I don't like freehand. I use Flash instead. It's slightly different for drawing things and you can animate them in Flash .

I just tend to use Notepad, Photoshop and Flash.

I think a logo should be able to be faxed. If you can fax it then you're ok.

It never ceases to amaze me when I walk into an office and see a fax machine... Haven't they heard of E-Mail?
