Need help with a tutorial

How do I set my foreground color so this is has the same checkerboard appereance as in the tutorial @ http://www.tutorialized.com/tutorial/Te ... tton/11189 ?

I don't know what else to say other than everything that is listed in that tutorial. Have you read each word and done exactly as it says?

Seems to work fine on my computer when i do the tutorial. Double check what you have done and be sure that you don't miss anything out.

the author of the tutorial is just using a transparent background.

You can do this by starting a new photoshop document and setting the background to transparent
