Here's one I just took about 10 minutes ago of one of the new snakes I got this week...

About 2 seconds after I took this photo, he leaped forward and struck right at the camera, heh. I guess he was a lil pissed :)

Image

I can't wait to get the 105mm macro, then I'll really be able to get some good close-ups :)

Actually, I'm getting the 75-300...

The snake in that picture is only about 30" long, and he ain't venomous, so I'm not gonna die only being a coupla ft away from him ;)

Hey, Thatkid, do you or your brother know of any extension tubes that still retains use of the Nikon AF functions? I don't mind losing auto-aperture, as the 75-300 has an aperture ring, not like the G-series lenses, so that will be set manually, and the photos will be shot in aperture priority mode.

ok axe according to my brother the 75 - 300 is a g series lens unless u buy an after market sigma lens. as far as extension tubes geos cant be used with a g series and that he knows of no extension tube have the AF capability but there could be something out there.

There is both a G and D version of the 70-300, the 75-300 is not a G lens as G lenses don't have an aperture ring. The 75-300 does have an aperture ring.

I'm also going to be using this on a Nikon N90s - which doesn't work in aperture priority with the G lenses.

Trust me, the 75-300 isn't a G lens :)

This is the 70-300 G lens (also available in black)... As you can see, no aperture ring...

Here's the 70-300 D lens, with aperture ring...

And here's the 75-300, with aperture ring (and tripod collar)...

Photos courtest of KEH Camera Brokers.

The 80-200 is also a nice lens, great quality glass in it too, right now just a little beyond the price I want to spend for the type of work it'll be doing with it, and doesn't quite reach far enough.

I've had companies pay me for photo shoots for advertisements, flyers, etc. But I've never sold any of my images to magazines or anything yet - there may be a book in the works though that will be pretty much all my photos.
