Photoshop brush wont show (need Rat)

I found some photoshop brushes. I put them in the brushes folder in my photoshop folder. One of the sites i got them off of was one for photoshop 6.0 and the other was rats does the version matter? cuse non of them are showing up.

Did you use the "Load Brushes" command in Photoshop to specify the *.abr file?

no i just dragged them from the zip into the folder. Is there something special i have to do?

Yup. You need to have PS load them.

In PS go to WINDOW/BRUSHES to open the brushes palette. In the palette menu there should be a group of commands to load, save, reset and replace brushes. Choose 'Load', point it to the ABR file and you should be good.

i went into the windows tab and got the brush window and i can see one of rats brushes but non of the others

First you have to load the brush:
Image 1

Then select the brush you want:
Image 2

Lemme know if you have any troubles.

Note: Only brushes versions 7.0 and up will work.

im having truble with the "graphicscentralgrunge" brush it says it doesnt work for my version of photoshop. What version was it made for?
