Why does it have to be Photoshop 7? Why not just call Adobe?

i can vouch for serious downgrade in performance from 7 to CS. CS hogged my machine
to dragging sometimes, and i have plenty of specs.

as for getting 7, unless you buy it from amazon or directly from adobe, let's be careful how
think you plan to aquire yourself a copy.

Upgrade your RAM then ;)

I'm on 512Meg on this PC (Barton 2500), and 768Meg on my Athlon 1Ghz, and they have no problems with any version of Photoshop.

Memory's SO cheap these days. You can pick up a 256Meg chunk of PC133 (which I'm guessing is what you'd want on your 1Ghz machine) for less than 50 bucks these days.

If you had one of those (assuming you've got a socket free), you could go up to 384Meg no worries :)
