Photoshop - waves of light effect

i have been trying to remake this effect in photoshop with no success.

i am using the pen tool to create the curves and different blending effect, but i cant get it nice as on the picture.
anybody has an idea how i could do this?

Yes, you can make things glow like that in PS. Try using linear dodge or linear burn. Trial and error, experiment, you'll get it. I have a glowing effect on my new website, it'll be up later.

Maybe try duplicating the same brush stroke a few times in the same place with blending modes applied to accentuate the glow effect.

I've created effects like that by creating a circle of bright colors that I want, on the same layer as a black background. Then, using the smudge tool, just stroked it out. If your selected on a blurry edge brush, the smudge tool will automatically give the fade that you see on the original image. It may be a little tedious, but give it a try.
