Photoshop Windows Thumbnail Preview

I used to be able to preview the thumbnail image of photoshop files without having to open it with photoshop program itself, if i had the images arranged in thumbnail view, the images with show, [psd files], now they dont show at all theyre just blank like a file with no extension, can anyone help me on how to put it back to how it was, thank you
