thanks for the comments guys! this was the first time I tried taking pics of fireworks, I think they turned out ok. I have a lot of things to work out with it, and some details the keep in mind next time. I can't wait to try.

I'm using a Nikon d70. :D

I am in envy of your pics mine did not turn out as well as yours did. but I got some very interesting pics though. I learned that my shutter speed was too slow I was trying to take pictures of fireworks like I did lighting and they did not give me the best pics. the best thing is that I will know for next time.

What were your settings on your pics?

As you can see I was quite far from the action had to change lenses to telophoto lens

The first two photos were taken during the daylight. I really dont see the point in firing fireworks when there is still some daylight.

Not as sharp as I wanted but they have a good design to them. the very first one is a personal fireworks that spectators were shooting off before the main event and the second one is where the main event was taken place. yeah it was daylight and the time between the second and the third one is only like 7 mins. it got dark quick that night storm rolled in.
