I am working on several websites currently and I dont know what everyone uses to make the images and graphics for webpages, I need to buy a program, I've been doing a lot of my editing in flash and exporting but I've reached the limitations of what I can do. Does photo shop work for making borders and stuff? What does everyone else use to create headers, banners, borders, and to work with images?

all help is greatly apreciated

In my honest opinion, i don't think i could design a website without using Photoshop.

Incase you havn't read my reply in the Competitions forum thread, i use Photoshop CS2. This software is good for many reasons. I have yet to find a piece of software that is as easy to use and have the same sort of options.

Best of luck with your search for decent software.

lol not completely!

I use Fireworks and I love it. It can do everything I need and it's much cheaper than PS. I also think it's much easier to learn as there is less functionality. That might seem like a disadvantage, but I don't actually need the extra functionality to do what I need to do.

You might though, so it all depends on your own needs.
