My next camera is gonna be the Nikon 3100. I should have it pretty soon.

My current digital is a crappy HP 315. I dropped 1 too many times and the
battery cover is broken. I hold the batteries in with duct tape now.

I also just borrowed my dad's 1978 Yoshica 35mm he bought that year in
Japan. It takes fabulous pics, and I'll post some here soon. I lucked out
because he has 4 diff lenses already, so I've been having a blast with it.

I was looking around on Canon and freaked out when I saw a digital camera there up to 11.1 mega pixels. It only costs 8 grand!

Check out the 11.1 megapixel camera:

This one is 6.30 megapixels:

The cool thing about both of these cameras is you can attach your own lenses to the camera like normal cameras. Which might enable you to get an extremely nice optical zoom and much clearer photographs.

You can get digital SLR's for as low as $1,500 nowadays.. and near-SLR cameras (such as the nikon 5700) are good alternatives at under 1 grand.

I was just digital camera shopping yesterday, and asked around with some buddies and they suggested to me the Olympus 720 or 740. Both can be had for under $400.

Thanks Jimmie,
I've made a note of that,
something within my price range.

I guess I'll want to sell my old camera afterward to recoupe some of the money spend.

I've added the Olympus to my list to look into.
need to be able to goto the stores and do the touch and feel thing,
they all look good on the internet with pictures and all but holding
it your hands before making up ones mind is really what needs to happen.

thanks again for the advice.

the camera I plan to buy next week is the Nikon 3100. Take a look at
GIA's work, and you'll see the sort of images it can take. Phenominal,
and this is the updated model of his camera.

$350 US

Here's a great site and resource for you to research:

So what do you have your list narrowed down to Steen for possible cameras you might buy?
