Don't think this was posted before, but did you guys ever check out the 2004 POVRay competition results? If not, treat yourself

Omg. I did a double-take when I saw this thread at Ozzu. That's a name I haven't heard in aaages. POVRay was my introduction to CGI; I started dabbling in it back in '93 or '94. It's amazing how far it's come. Those entries sure are a far cry from a sphere suspended over a checkered floor! Thanks for the link. =]

Yep - all digital renders. I downloaded the stuff once and fiddled with it, but truthfully I just can't figure it out. Guess I need to concentrate more. I'd love to do stuff like that. Can't wait for the 2005 results.

Same here! :)

Not used POVRay for a coupla years though (was giving it a workout to see how far it'd come).

These days I stick to Maya/MentalRay, but POVRay's still one of the best out there :)
