Hehe, they can take a little getting used to...

Basically, you need to FOCUS your eyes on the screen, but you need to AIM your eyes as though you're nearer than you actually are... It's tough, but usually once you can see one, the rest are real easy...

But, some people can see them, some people can't. :)

Yeah.. Have you seen the stereo photos too? Similar theory, but you don't have to have a greyscale gradient as a heighfield...

Basically 2 photos, you focus your eyes on them for distance, but you aim your eyes nearer than the subject so that the pictures line up on top of each other...

I'm thinking of buying a second D100 (heh) and a Sync cord to make them both fire at the same time, so that I can do stereo photography.

To not muddy this SIRDS thread with 3D Photos, I made a new thread..

It isn't that I don't know the theory on how to make the hidden pictures appear, I am physically unable to do it...

I'll give you an example of what I mean.

As an electronics tech for the first ten years of my working career, I have done a lot of soldering..!!! I am unable to solder efficiently at small scales, because I have no perception of depth, due to my brain using only the information from one eye, not both. :(

Apparantly, people with perfect vision only ever use binocular/stereo vision to a distance of 4m, everything after that is monocular anyway...
so it is only a disadvantage for close in work.

think of firing a rifle... you close one eye, right?? your brain only uses/needs the information of 1 over long distances.

And since I have been this way forever, I have just learnt to adapt and really don't know any better...

Except for those 3d/stereo images :( Some times... like now in this thread... I really do notice the disadvantage!!... it would be really good to "get" them!!!
