:D Its a good start... Starting off with something like the stick man will help teach you how to animate. That's some smooth animation I see also, so now you can get more detailed and give that poor stick a shirt and pants  Hope to see more adventures of stick mans climb of that big rock!

There are some principles of animation that might come in handy. Two that come to mind is anticipation and exageration. For instance, when the character crouches down, before he jumps, you can create more anticipation that he's going to jump by exagerating the crouch and then the release. Same when he lands, when he's running. The way you have it now, the character doesn't have any weight.

On the same note, squash and stretch. If you were to animate a bouncing ball, when the ball is at the bottom, in contact with the floor/ground, it squashes. Then when it on it's way up, it stretches as if its reaching for the apex of the bounce.

Secondary actions/motions. If Bugs Bunny darts out of frame, he winds up (anticipation and exageration, as well as squash and stretch), then SWOOSH. When he exits we see secondary motions of his hat, for instance spinning in mid-air. Some sort of secondary motion could add some more interest, I think.

Kind of random - sorry. Hope it helps.
