Hey guys, I'm trying to follow the tutorial outlined here. I'm stuck on step 3; when I hold ctrl and click on layer 1, I get the error: Warning, no pixels were selected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Santibizzle

i think this message appear because you selected the wrong layer

look step 2 :

Now create a new Layer (Layer 1). Hold CTRL and click on the type layer you created in step 1 to create a selection of your text. With "Layer 1" selected on the layers palette, go to Edit-> Fill and in the pop up use the settings shown in the image below.

that means you should press CTRL + click the text layer that you create in step 1.
I think what you are doing is clicking the new layer right?

I hope that will solve the problem , good luck :)

See the thing is, from what I understand, is that you're supposed to have that new channel (alpha 1) that you created selected when you go back to the layers palette. When you're back to the layers palette, you're supposed to do ctrl + click "layer 1", but when I do I receive the error mentioned above. Does that make sense?

If you get that error it means there are no pixels on that layer....meaning there is nothing to be selected. Are you supposed to have drawn something on that layer first (dont feel like looking at the tut).
