I was reminded by Axe below, that I hadn't reinstalled Terragen yet. When I went to the Terragen site ( http://www.planetside.co.uk/terragen/ ), I discovered a news article that someone's Terragen renderings of Mars hit the cover of National Geographic. Here's a link to some renderings of Mars by the artist Kees Veenenbos - http://www.space4case.com/mars/mars7/mars_7.html -- keep in mind folks, not a one of those images is real. I've used this program and it has tremendous capabilities. Here's one I did with Terragen:

(the quality is slightly reduced to keep the file size reasonable). The images are rendered in bitmap files and can be quite large. Unless you have a fairly fast processor and a decent amount of RAM it can take a long time to render.

Terragen is still free for personal use and can also be registered for commercial use. Here's the download if anyone is interested.
