Hi guys,

I thought I'd make this post about photoshop tips and tricks:

1) I'm a mere amatuer at graphics design in photoshop 7 with a creative flair. flare, well you get what I mean. :? and I need help

2) I was told the title for this site was done completely in photoshop (excellent), but I have no clue how.

So, my first question is I was wondering how this was done. I'm using HELP in the photoshop menu, but I'm still a bit lost. Little help?

Thanks

deviantart is the #1 place to start. that's definately one site you should not skip up.

if you missed my post, I explained in fairly good detail the exact process I took for creating the top title here: http://www.ozzu.com/viewtopic.php?p=11169#11169

I'll add that one to my favourites and get to that site soon enough :). I've taken a look at http://www.phong.com. That tree animation is incredible I hope I get that good in Flash and Graphics Design, and after browsing the tutorials I'm sure my skills WILL improve. Thanks for that one. I'm sure this topic will be an asset to many other designers so any more tips etc, keep em posting.

Indeed, he's quite talented.

Browsing through internet sites to see the capabilities of flash and photoshop, I came across this site: http://www.homestarrunner.com
Maybe U've heard about it? I still dont know what the site is really about cause when I visited it, I was too busy looking at its animation rather than looking for a mission statement etc hehe. Would you be able to tell if he used photoshop to design those characters?

PS: Do you use an optical mouse for your designing?

homestarrunner is one of my frequently visited sites... specifically for strongbad email updates, but the rest of the site is good too. nothing there is designed using photoshop, it's all Flash work which was most likely done using Macromedia Flash MX or one of their earlier versions.

I've played with flash a little, but I was finding it hard to do much of anything decent in there, so it really amazes me still what those guys can do with Flash.

Hi guys long time no speak, been busy producing music and designing my website :)

When I was using Photoshop one day I noticed that there are now 2 symbols that stay in the top left hand corner of the picture files I open and create. Do you know what they are and how do I get ridda them :?:

1st One: A number >> 01 <<

2nd One: A short ZigZag inside a tiny rectangle.

They are both coloured (gray) and they dont go away. (that rhymes) lol

A little help

Try pressing ctrl-h. I believe that will make it go away. I think you are seeing the slice icon (which is currently slice number 1 only since you haven't cut anything up).

I pressed control H and it went away :)

What bigwebmaster gave you is the quick fix, and I've had this happen
to me before as well. It's an option to always show the slice numbers,
and for some reason it will turn itself on. Probably by some odd
combination of keystrokes as time goes on working in pshop.

Who knows... :?

You can turn this off by going to Edit, Preferences, Guides, Grid, and
Slices. At the bottom, uncheck the box that says 'Show Slice Numbers.'
