High, I want to make some images that has transparent layers. I don't have anything other then MS Paint and don't have any money to buy anything either. Can anyone suggest a good free program that would do such a thing, or am I stuck?

I've seen people familiar with Photoshop swear by The GIMP, never tried it myself though.
Strong with this one, the sudo is.

I unzipped the GIMP file, but I didn't find any .exe files or anyway to open the program and use it. How do I start?

Did you even read the information at Gimp.org?

http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html

Is what you want - download "GTK+ 2 Runtime Environment" and install it.

Then download "The GIMP for Windows" and install it.

Done.

Don't laugh at that. That is my first photo I manipulated at GIMP. Thanks for that reply dyefade, I'm learning GIMP now. :)

Also, I got a little problem on GIMP. Why can't I use tools such as drawing lines. THe only tools I can use are Select COntegious Regions and Select Region by Color. (That is how I manipulated that picture :D) any help would be great.
