View -> Show Bounding Box or Shift + Ctrl + B (PC) Shift + Apple + B (mac)

If that doesn't work let us know what version of Illustrator your using and maybe a screenshot of the issue.
If at first you don't succeed F1... If that doesn't work try Google!

Limited Illustrator user here, so be kind and simple. How can I import new fonts into illustrator? Where can I find new fonts?

tpp: Illustrator can only use the fonts you have installed on your system. That said, I'd recommend dafont.com to get more fonts. On Windows the font folder is "C:\WINDOWS\Fonts" and "/Library/Fonts/" on a Mac

You can also in windows open the fonts by going to control panel and clicking the fonts button ... you can simply copy/paste fonts in there ... then just restart the application ...
Let's leave all our *plum* where it is and go live in the jungle ...
