Hello all,

I am an art student, and one of my specialties is drawing portraits of people who I know (either from photos or from observation). However, I'm not sure if I should ask these people for permission to upload them on the internet.

Do any of you know about the etiquette/rules that apply in this sort of area?

Thank you.

I think through common decency it's nice to let them know, but i know many who have done just that and not let them know. Infact, i am guilty of it myself, i added some photographs onto Flickr of a person i know and never told her.

If it is a good image though and not offensive or rude then i don't think they would mind. It's good to let them know though.

Out of courtesy I would ask them if you know them astrid+, especially if the likeness is striking. :D

You can always be forgiven, but you can never go back in time to see what would have happened.

That being said, it never hurts to ask the person beforehand. :)
Strong with this one, the sudo is.
