Photoshop 9 is actually older than the CS2. CS2 is Photoshop 11.

I'm still using Photoshop 7 believe it or not! I actually got a chance to play around with both Elements and CS3 last weekend, but I couldn't really find any reason to upgrade.

Does anyone know of a reason I should?

I bet they wouldn't have made photoshop 8-CS3 without adding more and better features to it. I had CS3 (trial) for 30 days. Man I loved it. Too bad I can't buy it right now. Very tight on budget.

one very compelling reason for mac users is that CS3 is a universal binary meaning that it runs much much much better on the new intel based macs.

Other than that the features you use will depend significantly on why you use photoshop.
