Just curious as to what the most popular brand of computers are used by other designers here at OZZU. Personally, I use an Apple, Power Mac G4. Sadly enough to say I am still running on the OS 9.

You know this should be posted in either General Discussion or Hardware.

Anyway, I use a Hewlett Packard PC. Running Wondows XP. Only 512 RAM, but it gets the job done :P

Yes, lol. I had on intended on listing more computers when I started. When I got to the end of my Apples my mind went completely blank. Either I have smoked too much chronic in my life time or my mind saw know need to store the names of inferior computer companies, lol. I barely managed to get Dell and IBM and thats why the list ends with other.

Damn Foxy, all of them? Wouldn't it have been cheaper to upgrade your computer? How much is that 30"? That has to be amazing to look at, from a graphic artist perspective. I might have to get me one, too?

Hey, does anybody know where I can download an Apple G5, lol?

Thanks to everybody that took the time to vote and such, and thank too everyone else in advance.

$4000, WHAT! I could buy me the new G5 and some extra stuff for that amount. I think I need to work with you Foxy. I wish I could spend $4000 on a monitor. Guess I will have to stick with my 17". :)

Top of the line when it comes to graphics. But, for doing anything on the net I've almost thrown this b1¬Ęt# out the window.

sorry guys but i'm going to show off now.

Brand new (bought 4 weeks ago)

Windows Media Edition XP
Custom built AMD 64bit 3Gb , water cooled with 450 watt power unit.
Geforce FX 5900 graphics card
Creative labs Audacity Platinum
3 120 Gig hard drives (1 external 60 gig and a 512 pendrive)
CD/DVD rewriter
Duel monitor 17" crt as secondary, 19" tft as primary
A few other bits of kit too but that would be too much

Before you say anything i do multimedia for a living and this machine is my life. I have to be able to run Director, photoshop, imageready, Freehand, authorware (occasionally), Access or Excel, Visual suite etc etc all at the same time.......

So there you go thats what i'm packing.
ps it rocks for high end games :D

phil

(edit) sorry this is my work machine, i surf with an older AMD 3000xp+ machine with lesser bits and pieces(/edit)

I am running as nice a setup I think, minus the graphics.

P4 3.2 gHz @ 533 mHz Bus
450 Watt PSU, All fans though...still runs cool.
2 x 80GB Drives
1 GB Memory Stick
FX 5200 128 MB
1 GB Corsair Dual Channel RAM (Runs sweet w/ my mobo!)
1 x 17" Monitor
1 x 15" Side Monitor
XP Home
Audigy Legacy 24-bit Sound Card
240 Watt Sony Speakers w/ 120 Watt Sub

I too run like everything at once on my comp! It kicks it w/ the hyperthreading! oh yea!

PS: Hitman 2 sound awesome with the volume up! chi-click....BOOM!
