Hi,

I'm looking for quality web navigation icons to purchase, but can't seem to find much using a Google search.

Where does everyone get their nice icons or do they create them themselves?

Thanks!

I am sure the majority of people make them. I know if i was creating a site i would be looking at creating the buttons myself to add that extra bit to make the site more unique.

The only way i am sure you could get some sort of buttons would be if you were to go to a template site and use them by buying a template.

Hi,

I was referring to picture icons like a house for "home", magnifying glass for "search", envelope for "email", etc. as well as other micro icons used for section headers, content boxes, etc.

Is that what you're referring to? Sorry, just wanted to make sure that we were talking about the same thing.

I guess dingbat fonts might be the best option, but for some reason I've had a hard time finding ones with a simple house in them.

Thanks,

kelly

I create my own. There are tons of collections you can purchase, but in the end, I think it's always better to have something original that really match with your look & feel. I archive all the icons I make, but I only dip into that collection when I don't have time to make new ones.

Do you mind if I ask where you've seen them? I think I only found one or two decent collections.

Thanks.

. . . and no problem SB. I probably wasn't all that clear in my first post.

Thanks dM. Those look like some nice ones, some of which I hadn't seen. I'm bookmarking each so I can take a closer look.

Thanks again!

you can get a few good ones form http://www.flamingtext.com/. you can make your own or you can get them for standard buttons.

Used this site to design my webpage for one of my master's class for technology in education.

Thanks for the link mtg.

I also found a dingbat font called Eclectic Web that has a lot of the shapes I was looking for in one font. So now I have options!

Thanks everyone!

I am glad this questioned was asked. I have been looking for something quick and easy I could design and give away as free downloads from my site.

Kelly, if you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, you should be able to find all the icons you need in the shape tool selection box. If not, give me a day or two and I will send you some. :D
