photoshop and photimpact cannot really be compared - they both offer similar options - working in layers etc - but photoshop is ultimetly the best on the market. I find though some things a lot easier to do in PI8

Well, second only to Corel PhotoPaint. :)

Does anyone know if PhotoImpact XL is an upgrade to v8 ? Ulead's web sites are not very helpful.

I'm trying to use v8's web authoring features but get an error whenever I try to add HTML text object. (failed to create dynamic HTML component etc)

Wondering whether it's worth looking at XL

oh i dont know i havent had much experience with that .... for overall use though you cant beat Photoshop really...

Not sure about the upgrades... most other years its been easily upgradeable but I havent gotten round to doing it yet so I cant tell you for sure. Have you tried emailing or calling them?

I have been using PhotoImpact programs for a few years now to play and I have to say that XL is great ! I am looking forward to seeing what impact 10 can bring to the table now too.
