Hello everyone! My name is Brian, I am currently 30 and live in the Seattle area of Washington State.

Since 1998 I have been self-employed and have enjoyed working for myself. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Flight Technology and a minor in Computer Science (Magna Cum Laude Honors). I have always been interested in computers and the Internet and much of what I know is actually self taught. I am a fast learner and can pick up new concepts fairly quickly. I would like to think I am most skilled when it comes to Linux server administration, Apache, MySQL, PHP, PERL, C/C++, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and SEO.

When I am away from the computer/Internet I enjoy spending time with my wife, playing tennis, lifting weights, flying airplanes, watching movies, defeating xbox, winning at poker, and listening to music. When it comes to animals/pets, I love dogs.

When I created Ozzu I really had no idea I would meet so many different wonderful people. I believe I owe a big thanks to those who have helped contribute to Ozzu and have helped maked Ozzu what it is today.

Hello from the "burgh". Pittsburgh that is -- my home town area and where I have returned and currently reside. ATNO/TW is a combination of my two oldest and most used internet handles (going on 8 years now). ATNO == A True Night Owl, and TW == The Webmaster. By day, I'm a network administrator for a nuclear services company. I'm the company's only IT professional and manage about 50 workstations and users, maintain the servers, manage our website, and write in-house applications using php, Access and VBA, and some asp apps (although asp is not one of my forte's). I also do the ad layout for all of our print advertising. At night, I develop scripts and manage boastingrights.com with my co-partner and best friend Mike whom I've known only via the web for nearly as long as I've been on it. Like many of you I am self taught on design and programming languages. Prior to discovering computers and the web I was in retail management for nearly 17 years. I have a Bachelor of Science in Communication. My hobbies include gardening, billiards, online poker, and playing guitar.

Hellow World ! *wink

I'm Joe, live in Clearwater FL, born on U.S. Independence Day in 1981, & I eat, sleep, & breath web development.

February of 2008 marks my 4th year here at Ozzu.

I've learned alot in my time here & I like to think I've helped others learn alot as well.

I don't specialize in any one skillset, rather my strength is "thinking outside the box" & getting different technologies to work together.

I'm more than comfortable with HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, & MySQL. If I don't have to worry about a shared hosting enviroment I'm quite comfortable with Apache. I passed Brainbenches' Apache2 Administration exam in the top 4% last year, earning a master-level certification.

In the last year I've become increasingly interested in *nix. I finally dug an old computer out of the closet & setup a "headless" Ubuntu box for my developing pleasure. Since setting that up things have just kinda "clicked".

In the 4th quarter of last year I started my blog, where I post random ideas, review books, & respond to the occasional forum thread in greater detail.

I've heard about search engines being responsible for the majority of peoples' traffic, but in January of 2008 I certainly discovered exactly what they're talking about with my blog.

I love saltwater fishing, but don't get out to do it as often as I'd like.

Living in Clearwater puts Fort Desoto just out of reach & having grown up there I just don't like to fish any of the other piers or bridges.

With the exception of boats. If you live near me, have a boat, & need constant work done to websites when you're not fishing, we should probably be friends.

613flavah 613flavah Moderator Team

Hey guys! My name is Jimena (he-men-a) and I'm Peruvian but currently living in Canada.

I've been using my nickname for about almost 10 yrs now. It's quite a silly story actually. I used to breakdance and one of my partners was from Montreal and had the nickname madslim514. The 514 being the Montreal area code and the madslim because he was tall and thin. We were trying to find a nickname that would go well with his and came up with '613flavah'. The numbers being my city's area code and the flavah part was b/c I was the only female in the crew and brought a certain 'spice' to the team. It just kinda stuck after that.

I'm the lead web developer/designer for International Trade Canada (fed gov't) and have been for the last 5.5 yrs. I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in computers, just was never really sure what to branch off to. Until I came to realize how much I loved the arts and computers so I decided to take multimedia in college. Once I got my degree, I took a post diploma degree in web development & design. I've worked both in the public & private sector so I can honestly say I've seen how they both work.

I've lived in 4 different countries and been lucky enough to travel all over the world growing up which has helped mold me into the person I am today.

I came across OZZU back in the fall of 2004, I think I was looking for some programming & design forums to join and this one came up in a search. I'm sure glad to be apart of this growing community.

My hobbies include, travelling, reading, dancing, designing & photography.

Daemonguy Daemonguy Moderator Team

The moniker 'Daemonguy' while not very original is, at least, descriptive. 'Daemon', as used in conjunction with my avatar – the FreeBSD Daemon – signifies my undying loyalty to that particular flavor of UNIX; 'guy' … well, you get the idea.

I am a senior level engineer and design architect for an extremely large, global IT company with offices here in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Prior to that I was a contract engineer to the Department of Defense; my roles included network design, application development and security – the latter of which floated between network/system security, cryptographic controls and forensics. Before that I worked for the government in a different capacity.

I earned a BSEE more years ago than I care to think about, but never once became a practicing engineer. My 'computer life' began at the dawning of the age of data; when the term 'home computer' started to sound somewhat plausible. While I started out in programming (assembler, C, etc.), I knew I never wanted to be a “programmer” – far too stressful. (One year as an intern taught me that.)

These days I concentrate on high availability and highly scalable design and implementation, often showcasing emerging or in-house developed technologies at corporate sponsored events.

I keep hearing about this 'away from the computer' thing -- but I find the concept unsettling. Actually, having spent the vast majority of my adult life not living in any one place very long, I rather enjoy being a 'homebody' now. I can often be found connected via the wireless at my local cigar shop, where I am regularly enjoying a fine cigar and an even finer single malt scotch -- the absolute pinnacle of spirit achievement. Give me that, and the NY Giants on the big screen TV and I am in heaven. I suppose I should mention, that by the time you read this, I will (finally) be married to a great girl who must have the patience of Solomon for tolerating my many idiosyncrasies.

digitalMedia digitalMedia Moderator Team

Hello webmasters, et al. I'm Chris (a.k.a. digitalMedia, a.k.a. dM). I live in South Carolina, USA. I have a wife, two kids and I am a 'dog person'. Being a husband, Dad and dog-owner are my most important roles in life.

I have degrees in engineering graphics and computer art & animation. There isn't really a title for what I do so I call myself a 'multimedia developer'. That pretty much covers it. I am proficient, with HTML-XHTML/CSS/javascript/PHP/.NET, graphic design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash/Actionscript, animation, photography and several traditional arts. My career is over a decade old now so I'm thinking of sticking with it.

In my spare time, I enjoy studying history and religions. I play guitar(s) and like to write and record my own music. I also enjoy managing bands as a hobby.

graphixboy graphixboy Moderator Team

Hello my name is Bryce, I'm a designer and front-end developer working large and small clients from my home base in the icy tundra of Minneapolis Minnesota. Armed with a masters degree in graphic design (emphasis on interactive) I've been working to save the world from rainbow gradients and Flash intros - hence the name graphixboy. And no I don't wear a cape; I learned my lesson watching Pixar's Incredibles.

I recently had the honor of attending John Bielenberg's Project M (http://www.projectmlab.com/) where we discussed using design solutions to save the Costa Rican rain forest. In light of this incredible learning opportunity, I spend a significant chunk of my time trying to give back to the design community from teaching at the Miami Ad School to writing tutorials and lecturing about design.

My artistic strenghts include digital illustration, interface design, animation and 3d while my technical abilities include Actionscript, javascript, html and css. Your welcome to learn more about my skillset by visiting http://www.whenimnotsleeping.com/

When I'm not busy designing, I love hiking, mt. biking and skiing with my wonderful wife and cuddly golden retriever.

My user name stems from my favorite character of all time and my Military Occuplational Specialty number. People say I even look like the Grinch when I smile and I have a tendancy to be a bit grinchy.

I currently hold the position of Network/Systems Administrator for the Marine Corps Detachment located at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, USA. I have been in the Marine Corps for nine years and served my country during Operation Enduring Freedom.

I have a natural ability when it comes to computers and I have always liked working with computers. I have the ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply those concepts. I enjoy helping others with PC related problems and that is why I enjoy visiting Ozzu everyday.

katana katana Moderator Team

Hello, my name is Darren, although here at Ozzu I use the handle "katana". I chose katana due to my interest in martial arts, and Japan in general (katana being a type of Japanese sword).

I'm currently employed as a Software Development Engineer for a Scottish company that develop and supply digital interactive TV & services to hotels world-wide. I have a Bachelors degree in Computing Science with Philosophy and a Masters in IT. I particularly enjoy programming (having always aspired to work in some area of software development), and as such, I'm currently a moderator for the Programming forum. I like to think I specialise in Java, although I am familiar with a range of the C-based family of languages.

Outside of computing, my interests include playing guitar (currently a Telecaster), music (in general) and reading.

labrego labrego Moderator Team

Hi everyone, my name is Luis and I am from Mexico (I guess I am the only mexican around here). I don't have an elegant nickname like all my fellow mods because mine is a combination of my first name (Luis) and my last name (Abrego). I've been using it since I started with computers a long time ago and I am stuck with it, even though most of the people I know on the internet call me Larz.

I am a System Engineer working for a french Telemarketing company here in Mexico, where I mostly manage clients database information for telemerketing campaigns in SQL Server and Informix and write in-house applications using some flavors of .NET languages, ASP.NET, VB and C#, to be precise (I don't want to sound haughty), I also use VB6 and Java sometimes. I must say I am a 'workaholic' and sometimes you have to drag me away from the computer.

I am also a member of Regnum Christi and my best friend, who's like my brother because we grew up together, is a catholic priest, and that's an honor for me, believe me.

In my spare time, when there is some, I like to spend it with the company of a few good books or good music, which is my biggest pasion thanks to my mother who taught me how to enjoy the pleasures of classical music.

Besides that my passions include: practicing Karate, the countryside and my daughters.

I found Ozzu way back in the summer of 2004 when I was looking for help on how to fix my IExplorer which was full of spyware and crap, and that's why I am specialized in sypware removal. Bigweb gave me the opportunity to moderate the windows forum and I took it because I fell in love with this great community.

Howdy, my name is Craig and i am a 21 year old webaholic. I've tried fighting this horrible illness, but find that the lure of visiting Ozzu is just too much.

When i am not on the net I am studying Photography and Digital Imaging in Edinburgh, Scotland. I moved here at the beginning of August 2006 from Aberdeen (about 150 miles north of Edinburgh) where i had lived all of my life up until then. I have no spectacular degrees like many of the Mods on Ozzu, however i have always been working away at something and picked up a range of qualifications along the way.

I enjoy taking photographs in my spare time, as well as dabbing away at my website when i feel there is something i can do to it to make it better. Every day i keep my eye on what is happening in the sporting world and i am a big follower of Football (or Soccer, as some might say).

In my spare time I'm either working away, studying, or trying to contribute in whichever way i possibly can on Ozzu.

spork spork Moderator Team

Hey there, I'm Jeff, and my username comes from a week-long experience back in 2002 in which we were served three meals a day involving a tray of what can only be described as "slosh", a napkin, and a spork. The word spork has been in most of my online id's ever since.

I was born and raised in Erie, PA (that little part of Pennsylvania that sticks up to touch the lake). I'm currently a 4th year student at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, where I'm studying Software Engineering and pursuing a minor in Psychology. Within my degree, I'm concentrating in the area of software usability, because I firmly believe that human-computer interaction can be much better than it is today.

Web design is more or less a hobby of mine, and virtually everything I know about it comes from my time here at Ozzu. I'm amazed at the wealth of information I've picked up here in the last couple of years. I came across Ozzu as many people do -- by searching for the solution to a problem and finding it here.

When I'm not playing with pointers in C or juggling generics in Java, I enjoy playing racquetball, swimming, and destroying my opposition in Command & Conquer 3. I've recently begun an attempt at teaching myself to play guitar and have been considering becoming the next guitar legend if I can find the time.

After graduation I'm hoping to travel around Europe for a while to meet new people, drink new drinks, and experience all that the world has to offer.

UPSGuy UPSGuy Moderator Team

Hi all, my name's Jeremy and I reside in Murfreesboro, TN. I was raised in a small, country town in Northwest TN. I moved to Memphis to attend college and then over here to the Nashville area where my wife, two dachshunds, and I have settled in. I graduated from the University of Memphis (Go Tigers!) just prior to the last move with a major in Computer Science and minor in Information Systems. During my school years, I worked for UPS (hence the name) on the management team as a supervisor. Coinciding with my graduation, I left UPS to enter my field and joined a large mortgage company in the Franklin, TN area as a Junior Developer. My current work includes PHP, Perl, Java, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and the rest of the web design gang.

When I'm not online, I'm a hobbyist photographer and bike owner. My wife and I love to travel and see the world. We try to head somewhere new every year, but somehow I also find myself in Florida quite often. I enjoy spending time with good friends and good people. (but usually not at the same time! zing!) :D

vetofunk vetofunk Moderator Team

I am 26 and currently live in the suburbs of Chicago, but grew up in Indiana and hope to go back soon. The name VetoFunk comes from the basketball tourneys I use to play in (when I could dominate). Our team name for about 10 years was Veto Boys of Funk, so I just shortened it.

I currently am the Senior SEO for PrairieWeb Internet Marketing. I manage about 30 clients ranging from retail to B2B. I became really interested in seo for my family's jewelry business and went forward from there. Moved to Chicago about 3 years ago to work here, but will hopefully be moving back to Indiana where I can work from home part-time, and then cash in from the rest of the personal sites I have created. I learned a little about seo from college (Purdue), but mainly had to learn it on my own...like so many other computer-realted fields.

I became engaged on Feb 14th this year and will be getting married to my beautiful fiance' on August 19th, 2006.

I love extreme sports, rockclimbing, rafting, paintballing, snowboarding (can't wait for the snow), and will hopefully be doing some iceclimbing up in Michigan this winter. Love basketball and weightlifting as well.
