How's the best way to run a vote whereby visitors can only vote once? I have the option of running it through a forum, where only members can vote but that way anyone else who wanted to vote would have to register.
Is there any kind of html way of doing this, using cookies or something?
cheers

i would've preferred to use a scrolling div but i needed to use anchor points within the scrolling section. couldn't get them to work in any Mac browser and IE Mac and Opera totally screwed up the Div whilst trying to do it

not sure why it worked for you. on my mac (os x.3) in safari it does nowt and in IE it jumps down the parent page to where the achor link would be if the DIV was not scroll (if you understand that). it's exactly the problem i was having in mine. apparently there isn't really a resolution.

it doesn't work in IE/mac, Safari or Opera. That would be too much of a problem except that in IE on the mac it actually totally screws up the page, which is a real pain

cheers for that. for some reason i never realised you could control an iframes attributes through css. BUT... unfortunately i still can't get it to work because it seems that printers will not accept iFrames which are any longer than 1 page. which is a pain to say the least. and i cannot use a scrol...

i have an iFrame sat in the middle of a page and i was wondering if there is a way to set it so that when a user clicks on their normal 'Print' button on the file menu, it prints just the content of the iFrame. This code is usually applied to a "printer-friendly" button... function myprint() { windo...

yeah thats a possibility but i was hoping to avoid using a "printer-friendly" button as not all users think to click them. i've tried putting the iFrame inside a Div. The Div is set at 250px height and the iFrame at 100% height. Using css i had it working so that when the user clicked print the Div ...

i have a page which has a scrolling iframe as part of it. i need to figure out a way that people can print the page including the entire content of th iframe. i thought one way of doing it may be to alter the size of the iFrame when the user clicked print. i know you can use external css stylesheets...

you need to consider accessibility to your site as well. some slightly-blind people may want bigger fonts. or completely blind people may want they text read out. if you use flash then all the browser reads is one file, rather than lots of text and pictures and stuff. also, search engines won't pick...

you should just get a program such as Dreamweaver. then you can just export your swf and go into dreamweaver and click place flash file. that way you can easily control the placement of your swf as well
