Hello, I hope you can help me out with this one...

Every time when I create for example, a line, and convert to movie clip, _alpha doesn't seem to work...
Can you tell me which elements work and which elements don't work with _alpha ?

Are you using _alpha with an instance name or with the name you give when converting to a symbol ? (the dialog box with registration point information)

I know dynamic/input text doesn't seem to like _alpha.

It sounds to me like your not using an instance name, I've never had a single problem applying _alpha to a movieClip that is as simple as a line. :scratchhead:

A line should work perfectly fine with alpha. You can do it via actionscript using instanceName._alpha = value or you can do it in the properties panel for the symbol.

@joebert: dynamic textboxes can only be faded if you embed the font outline (properties panel, the button that says "Character...")

Thanks for the reminder lostinbeta :D
I've become so used to checking the device fonts box I forgot all about embeding fonts :P
