Can Actionscript call vbscript file?

Dear gurus and members,

I am a newbie in Actionscript. I would like to know whether it is possible for actionscript to call vbscript file? I have a Flash button on my website that is supposed to call an exe file located on the user's computer.

Can I use actionscript to call vbscript that will run the exe file? If yes, how should I go about it? Can someone please show me the sample codes? I would be very appreciated if someone could share his expertise and knowledge in this area. Looking forward to some reply soon.
