I am building a site for a customer and i noticed that a MC that has a gradient bar in it is real choppy. I dont know why the bar is so choppy when I have it slide to the left a little. On the bottom right is a button(dark gray box) that will animate the site for testing purposes. the site is in the design phase right now, so at this point I would like to know how to make it so it is not choppy and make it looks smooth. I did also create the same bg in photoshop and got the same results. Thanks in advanced.

maybe the size of the picture which moves is too big.motion of a big size thing may cause the swf slow.
i think u can try to use a mask maybe better than to move them

2 things to try. Increase your framerate and make sure that you start and end the animation on a full pixel. IE x of 20 instead of 20.3

That gradient can be done using Flash drawing tools. That will likely give you smoother results.

Also try going into your library, going to the properties of the image, and select "smoothing" - or some option named like that.
