comminication with a loaded movie....

basically i just want to access a variable from a loaded movie. how can i do this?

iMovHolder.loadMovie("Test.swf");

szDebug = ????? // <- i want to access [ szTestVar ] from test.swf

szTestVar = 'oh yeah';

You are loading it to iMovHolder, so target iMovHolder to get the variable.

EX: iMovHolder.szTestVar

However, you must wait for the movie to be fully loaded before the variable can be read.

BTW: I'm sure there is more to this, but if you are just loading a variable in, I recommend a .txt file instead of a .swf file.

yeah, i did eventually figure that out last night. however it brought me to a new issue. i think its more effective to just say what ild like the script to do and then someone can just point me in the right direction..

Ill make a new thread for this and post its location. im going to make a very simple example of what i have first.
