Is it possible to play a mpg in an external browser window through a button in flash?
I have a couple of rather large mpg's that bog down flash if I import them into my project so I wanted to use them without having to load them.

Thanks

Code: [ Select ]
on(release){getUrl("movies/blahblah.mpg","_blank");}

does that work for ya?
you might have to make an html page with the movie on it and have the url link to that, but i'm pretty sure you can do what i put above.

peace,

Why not converting your mpeg in a flv format.

I don't know which version of Flash you are running, but you can certainly download a trial of Flash MX 2004 pro which includes a flv exporter.

If you use a flv format and a media display component ( still flash pro)
you can do progressive download. no need to embed the video in the swf.
