according to macromedia System.setClipboard() and System.getClipboard() are supported by flash 6+ and the 7+ player. However, I can't seem to get them to work and I've found rumors that these have been disabled per security issues.

Has anyone used the set/get clipboard commands or know if they really have been disabled?

If they are disabled is there a work around?

Thanks

System.getClipboard() doesn't exist in Flash. I could see it indeed being a security issue to be able to access someones clipboard data without their permission.

System.setClipboard() has not been disabled though. This should work fine.

The workaround for getClipboard is to have them manually right click and paste.

yep just got setClipboard() to work although it just opened up new problems for me :(

I'm Using it to build an asset manager (similar to istockphoto.com) except instead of downloading the picked asset there are cases where a "copy to clipboard" would be useful. Only catch is that this class only takes a string so I can't send everything I needed to the clipboard.

guess its time to explore a php/javascript solution

Thanks for the thoughts.
