create slide menu

I am trying to create slide menu. When mouse roll over -the menu slides open and the you can pick from several options. The way I did it is by defending menu as a button, when roll over open, when roll out close. Then I defined small buttons and I put them on top of the menu area. The problem is when I roll over the menu and then roll over the small button the menu close. I think the reason for that is that the menu area interpret this action (when mouse is on small button)as roll out and then it close.
any idea how to get away with this problem???

With a little manipulating you can tween the buttons in so they don't just jump into view.
