Hello all,
Does anyone know how you would disable a movie clip, in the same way the you would disable a button.

I have a movie clip that performs a function when you click it, but I want to be able to disable this feature when you click a 'disable' button, but still see the movie clip.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

DrGonzo.

as in an actionscript function?

set a variable like enabled

then when you call the function

Code: [ Select ]

if(myVariable == "enabled"){
  runFunction();
}
  1. if(myVariable == "enabled"){
  2.   runFunction();
  3. }

Then your function will only run when you let it

Ahhh,
good idea...

I've actually fixed it already, using:

Code: [ Select ]
delete(textHolder.text1_mc.onPress);

Which does the trick nicely.

I might try using a variable though - as I don't use variables enough... (i'm still quite new to this!)

Thanks for your help!
