Does anyone know how to decompile/recompile a component?

I don't mean for this to sound off-the-wall because I'm not trying to hack anything. I'd just like to fix something that isn't functional in a free component that isn't doing quite exactly what I'd like it to do.

SWF Decompiler?

I've used it to learn how things were done and rip stuff from, I don't see why it wouldn't work for you :)

You can even output music/bitmaps/images/action scripts/etc in batch ;)

Thanks Nexus, but it's not an swf. it's a component. I'm familiar with SWF Decompiler and that don't cut the mustard.

Here's the deal. I found this component that I want to use
http://flashwanted.com/free-flash/3d-Rotation-Menu/

It's very customizable and will save me hours of time. When it's in "normal" mode for the "Navigation Mode" parameter, when the "Item" is closed the menu recenters itself. But i need to use larger pixel dimensions which only work well currently in "Center" mode. However when closed the menu doesn't recenter itself. I'd like to try to fix it so that it does.

Hmm I'm not sure.
I'm not all that accustomed to Flash, yet.
If you can download the source file, can't you modify it from there?

A component is compiled Nexus. Essentially they are built from FLA'a and Action script, but are then compiled so they can be installed and used as needed. Probably comparable to symbol movie clip instances. Hence to edit the action script to center the menu, I need to decompile the component, then recompile it and reinstall it.

Thanks for the explanation :)

I re-read the link I posted earlier and it states:
Supports Flash components.

I haven't tried using it on components, but I'm not sure that means it can extract them from existing SWF files or if it can actually decompile a component. It's worth giving a shot, no?

Been there done that. If it can be done I can't figure out how, which is why I asked. I don't normaly ask unless I've spent hours on it and can't figure it out myself.

I'll keep looking, but I doubt I'll come up with anything you haven't. If I find something promising I'll post it, though.
