ERROR message

can someone tell me what this error means:

**ERROR** Scene=menu,layer=customer, frame =112:line1: Mouse events are permitted only for button instances
on (release) {


and this is for a button instance.

the action is placed on the frame and not the button object.
check the error, it says frame=112.

click the frame, remove the actions. click the button, and put
the actions there.

I am sorry , can u make that clear - you are right the actions are on a perticular frame. how do i put them on a button?

when i double click on the button instance, it does not allow me to add actions !

so yeah i dont really understand how to i put the actions on the buton object.

no, not double-click, just select it with 1 click (highlight it).
Then add the actions.

yeah we did, but now i know that one must never use scenes.

cauz it works on one day and refuses to work on the other. even worse one button works and another of the same nature fails to.

well this has been my first attempt at flash so iam learning the hard way!
