Fading a movie clip out before the next fades in

I know this will be well simple, but I suck at actionscript...!

On my site I have 8 buttons relating to their respective sections of the site. I want a seperate movie clip to display the title of the section the button has called. However I cant find a way to fade the old title out before the new one fades in, without a stupidly bulky, time-consuming fiasco! (If only you could fade masks...)

I've tried getting the buttons to each set a variable, (eg the news button sets x = 1, downloads button sets x = 2) so that as the alpha of the old title hits 0% during the fade out, the title movieclip looks to the value of x to determine which title it now needs to fade in, but I just can't code it.

I'm sure there's a really clean, quick answer - any help would be greatly appreciated please!

ok just found there's a difference between x = "1" and x == 1!

managed to code the bugger - knew it only needed a tiny bit of script...!

hi monsieur_le_christophe, maybe you don't need a script i made fade 2 movie clips.

if your movie clip is in the button, then the work is easer only put the movie clip in the up and down frame.
