this is def a weird problem, and obviously not consistent. Probably why
MM.com has nothing on the subject. :scratchhead:

went away when I hit refresh once and awhile.

I know it happens alot though, because my sister told me she saw that difference awhile back on her computer, that is what got me to start thinking to why it happens.

I wonder if it makes any difference if the two images I put into the flash file were gifs or jpeg.

that right there makes a world of difference!!!

when you import an image into flash, you have 2 places to edit the
compression on the file. Within the Library, you can set the jpg
properties exclusively to that image, as well as in the export settings you
have the ability to choose the overall jpg quality.

If you imported it as a gif, you will almost def have this prob. I'm willing
to put $ on it, that if you go into the properties panel of that image, and
change it to 100%, it may just clear this up.

*fingers crossed*

you know where to go for that?

No I do not, I am opening the program up now to look though. Hoping that it is the problem it too :) otherwise I will have to resort to the transparency way Steen suggested as I think that might be an alternative. However I would really like to figure out why its doing it, so going to try to to this.

Well I exported it on the highest setting then went down to my other computer and cleared out the cache completely before loading up the site and its still there. Now when I import the image could that be where the problem might lie? It just seems weird to me why it wouldnt affect the comp I am on then since it looks fine here. Grrr.

Bigweb - remember what we talked about from that other board?
people need to upgrade if they'er on older stuffs. These people need to
get with the times if they're still viewing everything at 16-bit!

(sorry steen about the upgrade comment ;))
