Hey guys,
Making a little playlist/player and want the users to be able to download the file being played.

Here is the actionscript which goes to a dyn_text field.
Code: [ Select ]
link_txt.htmlText= '<a href="http://www.domain.com/audio/'+source+'">'+title+'</a>';

The link works fine. In firefox you do get the "what do you want to do with this file" but in IE of course it goes directly to media player since its an MP3.

Is there a way to make the browser save as?

you could zip all your files that will force a download. Otherwise you need a serverside language like php to push the file.

Hmm zipping, would make my used space grow ~70% for mp3 zipping, then most people would get confused on unzipping, especially w2k who have no unzip software.

I'll look at the php, maybe have the link be a download.php

Thanks

You can use PHP or some Flex client-server.
